What We Machine
Aluminum is our primary material — but we machine steel, stainless, and titanium to the same standard.
Aluminum
Our bread and butter. Dialed-in feeds, speeds, and tooling for 6061-T6, 7075-T6, and more. The VF-2SS's 12,000 RPM spindle is purpose-built for aggressive aluminum removal.
Steel
Mild steel through alloy grades — 1018 for general fab, 4140 and 4340 for high-strength structural work. Full range of carbon and alloy steels.
Stainless Steel
303 and 304 for general use, 316 for marine, 17-4 PH for high-strength aerospace and defense. Corrosion resistance, strength, and biocompatibility.
Titanium
Low thermal conductivity and work-hardening demand specialized parameters. Grade 2 (CP) and Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) available on a job-dependent basis.
Engineering Plastics
First Article Machining produces precision plastic components for industrial, agricultural, automotive, and manufacturing applications. Engineering plastics offer excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, low weight, and dimensional stability. We commonly machine materials such as Delrin (Acetal), Nylon, UHMW, HDPE, and other performance plastics for prototypes and production components.
Brass & Copper Alloys
First Article Machining produces precision brass, bronze, and copper components for industrial, electrical, plumbing, and manufacturing applications. These materials offer excellent corrosion resistance, conductivity, and machinability, making them ideal for bushings, fittings, electrical components, wear surfaces, and specialty parts.
